This is what the ridesharing App, ZimTaxi, is trying to solve. ZimTaxi (http://www.zimtaxiapp.com ) was launched in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe by two young Zimbabweans: Tafara Makaza from Bulawayo and Emmanciapte Musemwa, from Gweru.
The goal of the App is to be cheaper, safer and more reliable than regular taxis. And to be faster than the kombis, and more accessible to the riders. With Zimtaxi, people can travel anywhere they want to go without needing rental car services or figuring out kombi routes. ZimTaxi will give people a ride right to their destinations.
ZimTaxi takes customer safety very seriously. All ZimTaxi drivers pass comprehensive background and police clearance checks before being approved for the service. Drivers are rated by passengers and only the highest-rated drivers are allowed on the road.
