Internet service provider, Dandemutande has started engaging its partners in United States of America in coming up with a fuel monitoring and management system for Zimbabwe, Business Times has learnt.

This latest move comes at the back of crippling fuel challenges that have dogged the Southern African country, grossly necessitated by rampant smuggling of the product.

In other instances, fuel has been channelled to the parallel market.

Reports show that some companies and individuals are importing fuel from Mozambique before reselling the commodity to neighbouring countries using forged export documents.

Dandemutande chief executive Never Ncube said the company was aware of the challenge hence current efforts to introduce fuel monitoring and management technology.

"We have not yet approached government for that initiative, but we are currently doing the legal processes with our partners in America.

So once we have done that, then that's when we are going to engage government," said Ncube.

Fuel prices in Zimbabwe are arguably the lowest in the region, making unscrupulous dealers sell the commodity to foreign markets where they earn foreign exchange.

Since its inception in 1997, Dandemutande, according to Ncube, has evolved into a converged ICT solutions provider with expertise in enterprise connectivity solutions.

He said Dandemutande has capacity to connect, run more smoothly and give options of fibre, VSAT, and Wireless point to Multipoint, MPLS and VPN, which enable organisations to interconnect seamlessly.

On VSAT, Dandemutande has been offering this service since October 2010 and currently hold 35% market share in this space.

Collaborations and partnerships fuel efficiency, as such we have partnered with, and have been certified by leading Enterprise Hardware & Software providers such as CISCO, Microsoft, Ubiquiti, Ruckus and Sophos.

We have the capacity to offer enterprise Wi-Fi to every industry and field, be it agriculture, mining, banking, construction and many more.

"We never make the mistake of undermining the importance of communication.

Therefore, we accelerate your digital transformation journey in this communications-driven world through Enterprise Communications.

Some of these solutions include Enterprise Voice, Email Services, Video and Audio Conferencing and Hosted PBX," the company said.

Ncube noted that aadvancements in technology have resulted in much more cyber-sophisticated attacks.

Dandemutande is now providing a variety of offensive and defensive Cyber Security services, which include firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Solutions, Endpoint Protection and Spam shield.

"When employees are vulnerable it can be a threat to your cyber security as an organisation.

In addition to security solutions that we offer, we provide cyber security awareness training to ensure your employees are alert," said Ncube.

The internet service provider was accorded Gold Partnership by Sophos which means it can offer competitive prices on solutions and you can have access to trained or skilled technical and sales personnel.

Dandemutande is a privately owned company established in July 1997 and a subsidiary of Telerix Communications (Private) Limited whose majority shareholder, is Masawara Plc.

In 2009 Dandemutande was awarded an Internet Access Provider Class A telecommunications operator licence with 30MHz paired 2.5GHz spectrum by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ).
