The award ceremony acknowledges positive impact by corporates on their stakeholders, the lives of communities in which they operate as well as the environments in which they operate in walk away with various appreciation accolades.
NetOne head of public relations Elderette Shereni said the award is proof of the commitment to corporate citizenship and impacting the lives of people in communities.
"NetOne SDG and Community Impact Award is a testament of our commitment to corporate citizenship, impacting lives and transforming communities as well as promoting environmental stewardship and clean and green cities. This is underpinned by our 7 CSR Focus pillars which are aligned to the Global SDG goals," she said.
Dr Shereni spoke on other projects that NetOne has conducted as part of their corporate social responsibility.
"NetOne has contributed immensely towards CSI with the biggest being our support for the most widely followed community sports football where we have sponsored 4 PSL teams namely current log leaders Caps Utd, Black Rhinos, Highlanders as well as Chapungu FC,"
"Further to that we were swift to provide 3 truckloads of foodstuffs for the Chipinge and Chimanimani communities to provide immediate relief in the wake of Cyclone IDAI," she added.
The NetOne head of public relations also won the Top Corporate Social Responsibility Manager award. This is the third award conferred to her after the Woman Creating a Better World for All and the Exceptional Woman of Excellence Award from the 2017 and 2018 WEF- Women Economic Forum held in New Delhi India.
Speaking on how it feels getting recognition for her several community initiatives she said: "I have dedicated my spare time on promoting social inclusion to the disenfranchised members of society, volunteerism, coaching and mentorship amongst other activities. So being recognized in my country as well is entirely amazing."
