This came two weeks after Econet apologised to its customers citing technical challenges leading to service disruptions on purchasing electricity tokens through EcoCash.
The statement reads, "Dear customer. The Zimbabwe electricity transmission and distribution company (ZETDC) electricity token system on EcoCash is now working. Customers are now able to buy ZESA tokens via tokens. The minimum value you can buy your ZESA token on EcoCash has been increased to $10 to improve system efficiency. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and we will keep you informed of any further developments."
There has been shortage of cash and EcoCash customers have been able to purchase electricity tokens for as little as two dollars.
A number of customers expressed dissatisfaction towards the development since there is cash crisis and most households can only afford electricity for less than ten dollars.
Meanwhile, Telecel's mobile transfer, Telecash is offering ZESA top-ups "from just $2". Customers are advised to dial *888# and follow the prompts.
Netone's 1money also offers its customers an option to purchase ZESA tokens by dialing *111*2*1*1#.
