NetOne chows Econet's lunch

STATE-OWNED mobile network provider NetOne increased its mobile revenues by 1,1 percent in the second quarter to June 2019, latest industry figures show.

The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) second quarter report, revealed that NetOne is the only operator whose mobile revenues grew by 1,1 percent whereas Telecel's market share remained unchanged and Econet lost 1,1 percent mobile revenues market share.

The country's second largest telecommunications firm saw its revenues going up from 13,7 percent to 14,8 percent despite the unstable economic climate in the country.

It also increased its subscriber base by 6,1 percent in the second quarter to June 2019.
