The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) says the long queues at most of their tollgates are due to network fluctuations on point of sale machines and mobile money payments.
In a recent public notice, the national roads agency attributed the serious mobile, debit card and Zinara pre-paid card payment challenges to power challenges.
The public notice added that Zinara was currently working hard to resolve the challenges.
"We are presently engaging relevant authorities to assist. We hereby encourage our valued motorists to travel with optional methods of payment to avoid being inconvenienced and inconveniencing fellow motorists.
"We are also encouraging our valued motorists using electronic payment methods not to congest the express cash lanes at tolling points," read part of the public notice.
