NetOne data, SMS tariffs to go up

NETONE data and SMS tariffs are set to go up today after the mobile network operator (MNO) advised its customers that it will be adjusting tariffs.

"Please be advised that NetOne will be adjusting Data and SMS bundle prices effective Thursday, August 8, 2019," said NetOne in a notice said.

The second-largest mobile operator had remained with one of the cheapest weekly Whatsapp 100MB bundle costing $2 while its popular OneFusion lite which includes 180MB data, 90MB Whatsapp data,  15 minutes on-net and five minutes for off-net calls was fetching $10.

The largest MNO, Econet is currently charging $4,50 for 140MB Whatsapp bundle while Telecel is charging $2 for 100MB.
Meanwhile, there are still micro differences in call tariffs, with all MNOs pricing between $0,21 to $0,22 per minute adopting the maximum permitted tariffs by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz).
