Zimbabwe's fastest-growing Mobile Network Operator, NetOne, has partnered online technology magazine TechnoMag, to broadcast technology news and ICT titbits every day on StarFm in a move that apparently shows the two partners' commitment to driving technology and innovation outside their existing network.

The tech news section runs daily on StartFM's News Bulletin from today at 6 pm during drive time, which is the prime news time for most news listeners.

This is a deliberate move by TechnoMag to reach out to a new audience that will be ordinarily offline but connected through the airwaves.

NetOne said;

"We have to be very deliberate as a nation to make sure every relevant person is leveraging technology in mobile to create the solutions that we require, hence our specific interest in technology and championing the ecosystem to build a world-class company."

"We are also supporting young technology players in the ecosystem through our training to students over the Google Africa certification program, via funding and we are very conscious of how we want technology to shape the future of Zimbabwe," NetOne added.

TechnoMag ran pilot tests with StarFM of the same program for some months now before discontinuing it for a fully blown Tech News Section on the radio slot.

NetOne stated that they are committed to this partnership over a long term period as they seek to continuously run the program because of the material benefits it brings to the company and its growing subscribers.

While TechnoMag may have a huge audience online, the move broadens their reach and dissemination of tech-related news to an audience outside the world wide web.

The News segment shall be running mainly with local leading technology news, anchored with international and regional, with a Tech Tip Of the day.
