THE Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) finally launched the electronic learner's licence testing system (ELLT), which is aimed at reducing corruption in awarding of licences by the Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) and, in turn, reduce road carnage.
The Ministry of Transport posted to their Twitter page confirming that VID Chitungwiza has undergone the digital transformation and the Electronic Learners' License System is now being offered.

The ELLT was developed under the Zimbabwe Integrated Transport Management Information System (ZIMTIS) project, which is a public-private-partnership initiative between the government and Southern Regional Trading Company.
The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe managing director Obio Chinyere thinks the ELLT was going to restore trust in citizens on how the VID issued driver's licences.
