TelOne answers Zimbabwe netball team's call

State-owned telecommunications operator TelOne, donated RTGS$40 000 yesterday, to the Zimbabwe Netball National Team which is set to leave for the World Cup that is taking place in Liverpool from 12–21 July 2019.

TelOne Managing Director Mrs Chipo Mutasa urged other corporates to assist the national team in any way they can.

"We are here to just give you our token which I think will also go a long way to cover some of your expenses..we hope that with what we have given you, other corporates will come in and also add on," she said.

Zimbabwe Netball Association President, Mrs Leticia Chipandu expressed gratitude from the donation which she said will make a difference in assisting the national team.

"This sponsorship will go a long way in complementing government's efforts in providing for the journey to Liverpool. This kind of support will keep us motivated to give our best so that you won't be disappointed in partnering netball as a sport," she said.

As part of corporate social responsibility, TelOne has been a sponsor in the sports arena, particularly in soccer where they have shown unwavering support for the TelOne Football Club.

Their efforts have been commended by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Dr Thokozile Chitepo who reiterated on the impact of the donation on the women's netball team.
