The President's Spokesperson, George Charamba came out and said that investors coming to Zimbabwe have no need for the internet.

During an interview with Capitalkfm the President's spokesperson said:

"Let's not over dramatise. Investors don't need the internet when they come to Zimbabwe. They just need peace."

Charamba's comments come as the man has been on a spree of making controversial and confusing comments. A week ago the man warned the public that not everything coming from the President's Twitter account should be believed. What makes this statement even more confusing is the fact that the government seems to have failed to provide both peace and the internet.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity & Broadcasting Services Hon Energy Mutodi disclosed that information put on President Mnangagwa's twitter account is not legit and must be verified with the presidential spokesperson Mr George Charamba.

Speaking on a phone interview, Mutodi denounced Twitter as an official channel to communicate state-related issues and he strongly urged the public to desist from engaging information put on the President's twitter account that is claimed to be untrustworthy.

"We have to authenticate the information with the real official communication, official information coming from the President is through his spokesperson George Charamba, or from himself direct through the state of the nation address, via parliament or any official communication channel as well as the Government Gazette," he said.

Hon Mutodi went on to propound that official government related information is not put on social media platforms as they are a subject to being hacked.

However, Mutodi's justification has invoked confusion to the nation as Twitter followers witnessed the President's Tweet which he used as a channel to announce his return back home from Russia a fortnight ago. Not only that, The President even embarked on opening a WhatsApp as well as the Facebook account to as official channels to engage with the fellow citizens.

Hon Mutodi's claim has left the nation dumbfounded.
