Legal analysts have called on the Parliament to ensure the Cyber Security Bill fully embraces respect for national security as well as the respect of fundamental freedoms as enshrined in the constitution.

For the Deputy Chief Secretary to the President Responsible for Communications, Mr George Charamba, it is pertinent that Zimbabweans return to innocence and respect the right to life and property as opposed to the wanton abuse of social media to spread hate speech.

Lawyer, Chris Mhike said it is important for Parliament to tap into the laws of countries such as Canada, and consult widely to come up with a law that protects both the national interest and the fundamental rights.
