Addressing the press at the ministry offices, in the capital today, Hon Kazembe said the ministry's primary focus on appointing the board was on corporate governance to turn around the entity.
"The new board is expected to set values for the organisation, ensure wider impacts even to the non-listed sector and to act in the best interest of the organization and all its stakeholders including the government by facilitating effective and prudent management that can deliver the term success of NetOne," he said.
The new board chairman is James Prince Mutizwa and his deputised by Susan Muchaneta Mutangadura.
Some of the board members part of the board include Winston Makamure, Mathias Rangarirai Mavhunga and Paradzai Mutandwa Chakona.
The Minister said that more additions to the board that will be announced in due time.
"It is hoped that this initial five member board will bring sanity to the organization, the remainder of the board members will be appointed as soon as the ongoing formalities are completed," Kazembe said.
NetOne has been operating without a board fort more than two months and that has affected its operations particularly in areas where there was need for a board to make decisions.
