Addressing the 17th Annual People's Conference held in Esigodini President Mnangagwa said that government is working relentlessly to roll out transmission connect the rural populace.
"ICTs are an indispensable necessities. While Government has rolled out ICT, radio and television transmission signals to remote areas, we will quicken the pace of implementation of the programme. "He said.
"All our people in every part of the country must have access to local broadcasting and telecommunication services. Mobile networks must spread their services to remote areas so that more of our people can enjoy the convenience of mobile money services."
The government made resolutions at the Conference to, speed up the implementation of ICTs in rural areas through setting up morebase stations and information centres.
Zimbabwe's number of active mobile subscriptions have increased by 1.6 million as at September 2017 from 4.7 million to 6.3million to date, as a result of the liquidity crisis that has been crippling the country.
According to Potraz, the majority of these subscribers and in urban areas and the Regulator has embarked on a robust program to erect base stations for the rural populace without connectivity.
