Renders of the device revealed by 91mobiles show a design which bears a striking resemblance to Apple's tablet.
According to the report, "reliable sources" state that the tablet is referred to internally as the "Marx", although it will likely be a successor to the MediaPad M6, dubbed the MediaPad M7.
However, tech leaker Evan Blass has tweeted that the tablet will be called the MatePad Pro.
Design updates
The tablet's display features a thinner bezel than its predecessor, while the fingerprint sensor has also been removed.
This may indicate that an in-display fingerprint sensor could be employed on the device.
A pill-shaped rear camera configuration sports dual sensors with an LED flash.
On the bottom of the device is a USB-C port, but no 3.5mm audio jack, as is present in the MediaPad M6.
The device comes in two colours – black and white.
91mobiles could not confirm the specifications of the tablet, but claimed it will ship with Huawei's flagship Kirin 990 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage.
