SYSTEMS DEVELOPERS X4 (12 months contract)
BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Systems Support, the incumbent will be responsible for the designing, installation, testing and maintenance of software systems to improve business efficiency and service delivery.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES OF THE JOB
• Reviewing current systems.
• Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals.
• Working closely with analysts, designers and staff.
• Designing, scripting, coding, testing, and documentation of the development of custom software, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve well-engineered bespoke solutions and interfaces to existing systems.
• Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live.
• Preparation of training manuals and system documentation for the supporter teams and service desk.
• Documenting every process of the systems developed.
• Maintaining the systems once they are up and running.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree in Computer Science/HND in IT Systems or related qualification
• Project Management Diploma will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming & Web Services e.g. Ci-+, Java, Microsoft, NET, SQL.
• Experience in Systems Analysis, Design, Programming, Support, and Systems Integration, Sybase Database Administration, Postilion Administration.
• Eye for detail and problem identification.
• An understanding of business requirements.
• Analytical and commercial experience.
