VACANT POSITION: FITTER AND TURNER x 3
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the above-mentioned position. The incumbents will report to the Mechanical Officer —and will be based at Magunje, Karoi and Masvingo Depots.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
■ 5 '0' Levels including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
■ Class one skilled worker certificate in Fitting and Taming.
■ A National Craft Certificate in Fitting and Turning.
■ 2 Years in plant maintenance.

■ Ability to read and interpret engineering working drawings.
■ Ability to modify, design and manufacture engineering components with or without drawings.
■ Good supervisory skills.
■ Good interpersonal skills.
■ Good analytical, planning and communication skills.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
■ Overseas the day to day running of the plant and workshop.
■ Prepares annual budget proposal for new equipment and consumables for the depots.
■ Attends to plant installations and maintenance as and when necessary.
■ Conducts weekly plant inspection, services and produces the weekly plant performance report.
■ Orders spares and other requirements for the workshop by raising the internal requisition as and when necessary.
■ Enforces health and safety standards on daily basis.
■ Carries out annual national plant overhaul as and when necessary.
■ Reconun ends modification to plants and executing them upon approval as and when necessary.
■ Coordinates the maintenance of depot buildings, equipment and furniture.
■ Supervises contractors and initiate their payments as and when necessary.
■ Liaises with external parties for any jobs that need to be done at the depot as and when necessary.
■ Supervises and develops subordinates by setting performance targets and identifying training needs on an ongoing basis.
■ Maintains spares and materials records.
■ Any other related duties as assigned by the superior.
