Econet Wireless Zimbabwe launched Kanzatu-Nzatu platform, a crowdfunding initiative in response to the Cholera outbreak.
Said Kuda Musasiwa, "Such a shame that I have attempted over 10 times to donate and it gives an error."

Some Zimbabweans applauded the idea but criticised Econet for not zero rating the donation transaction.
"Great idea but are the payments to the ecocash merchant zero rated?," asked one client using Twitter handle Mhofuchikara for which Econet responded, "Hi there @Mhofuchikara. Thank you for contacting us. Kindly note that normal charges apply. ^ZOD."
Mhofuchikara acknowledged Econet's response by saying, "Ok l see, if l was a decision maker at econet l would have zero rated the donations given that its a donation, its a response to a need not a choice to pay for something."
Econet said it has noted Mhofuchikara's concern, "Noted. Kindly be advised that transactions of $10 and below are not charged except for the mandatory government tax. ^ZOD"
The Kanzatu-Nzatu platform raised $7826.48 in less than 24 hours and has a target to raise $2 Million.
A big thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards the National #Cholera Fund! We have raised $7826.48 in less than 24 hours!
