Liquid Telecom unveils free Wi-Fi to tertiary institutions

Liquid Telecom has unveiled free Wi-Fi to 15 universities and 6 colleges by the end of February.

Speaking during a Cabinet briefing yesterday, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa,  announced that Liquid Telecom will provide free Wifi to Tertiary institutions by end of this month.

"Under the eduzones in universities, fifteen universities and six colleges, are to be provided with free wifi through Liquid Telecoms by end of February 2019" she said.

Free Wi-Fi will bring relief to students in tertiary institutions where internet access is a necessity which some students who do not register on time fail to gain access to.

Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Professor Amon Murirwa also said the government is working on re-aligning higher and tertiary education as a means to produce a caliber of students that is innovative and industrially capable.

"We are re-aligning higher and tertiary education, science and technology development," said Minister Murirwa

The government is working towards empowering students in what Minister Murwira has termed Education 5.0 where the ministry will equip students in order for them to be industrially productive by providing for what they require to be productive.
