Minister of ICT and Postal and Courier Services Hon Kazembe Kazembe together with His Excellency Japanese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr Toshiyuki Iwado are set to roll out ICT infrastructure development projects this year in the country.

Speaking during a courtesy call made to the Minister by the Ambassador, Mr Iwado in light of ICT infrastructure development in Zimbabwe said that through collaboration, the two countries will explore opportunities and challenges together.

"The Chamber Of Commerce in South Africa led by the Jetro will be in Zimbabwe next week from the 18th to the 20th of February, the effort on our side is to establish how we can engage Zimbabwe economically until it reaches its full potential," he said.

Hon Kazembe revealed that the Japan delegation's involvement promotes investment in Africa as they are keen in placing more effort in engaging and improving economic issues of Zimbabwe through various ICT projects with the Ministry, adding "priorities that are being looked into investing in Africa include ICT infrastructure development which have become everything in the world, as well as financing models," he said

"Our intention of course as a Ministry is to ensure that everyone is connected, no one is left behind. You cannot do anything in this day and age without ICT. For us to enjoy those applications we really have to have the platform first."

A Japanese Delegation called Jetro is expected in the country as of next week that looks in to investment in African countries and Zimbabwe's ICT Ministry is of paramount interest.

A fruitful outcome is expected as Zimbabwe partners with one of the biggest tech giants in the work.
