The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has concluded its tour of digitalisation project facilities in Matabeleland North province with Minister Monica Mutsvangwa highlighting that time had come for all Zimbabweans across the length and breadth of the country to access relevant information.

She also noted that the tour which took her team, comprising her Deputy Energy Mutodi, Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana and digitalisation cooperating partners to Hwange, Kamativi, Binga and Ken Maur, had been a huge eye opener as it will shape decisions to be made towards completing the digitalisation project.

Various challenges such as the need for different government ministries to come on board to make the project a success and unavailability of adequate forex among others were noted, with the ministerial team promising to address the situation.

US$104 million is needed to finish the digitalisation project which is said to be at 35 percent complete with expectations high that the upcoming budget will be able to meet this demand.
