THE Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) is advising the motoring public that in view of the de-registration exercise to be conducted by the Central Vehicle Registry (CRV) of vehicles not licenced or exempted for a period of two or more years will be offering a 50 percent discount on penalties only.

The period starts at July 31 2018 on outstanding vehicle licence fees up to December 312018.

The clients have been also advised to visit ZINARA offices countrywide and take advantage of the discount promotion to update and regularise their vehicle licence before the de-registration process to be carried out by CVR.

The CRV last week reported that it will de-register more than 300,000 vehicles that have not been licensed for the past two years. This follows the expiry of the September 28, 2015 deadline set by the Zimbabwe National Road Administration to license all vehicles with arrears.

Once a car is de-registered, it will be removed from the CVR data base and the owner will be required to get a new certificate of fitness from the Vehicle Inspectorate Department as the first step towards re-registration.
