Mureza which seeks to change the face of Africa's car industry prides itself as a black-owned car manufacturing company that "designs and manufactures cars in Africa for Africans" and is the brainchild of Tatenda Mungofa (31), the CEO of the company.
Mungofa co-founded the company with Thulisa Sosibo and Pheladi Chiloane and registered it in South Africa in 2016.
The car comes with a 1.5 litre engine and the target is to offer the model at between R180 000-R200 000. The specification of the top model is said to include key-less entry, seven-inch touchscreen, blue tooth, satellite navigation, reversing camera, cruise control, parking sensors, audio system, air conditioning, four airbags, electronic stability control, ABS brakes and tyre pressure monitoring. A three-year warranty will also form part of the package.
"Components will be made locally to ensure trusted quality ensuring the cost is favorable . This makes it easier for our customers to find replacement parts in the event of repairs and maintenance."
Mungofa says they had to also rope in external support as to bring the needed quality and expertise to ensure that their products will be competitive on the market.
Mureza is working Saipa an automaker headquartered in Tehran, Iran. The company also has plans of moving their assembly to Willowvale motor industry in Zimbabwe.
