Potraz donates state of the art computer lab

Telecoms regulator Potraz on Wednesday donated a computer lab to Masvingo High School which falls under the Zimbabwe National Army Schools Welfare Trust (ZNASWT), as it aims to enhance access to ICTs in schools.

The ZNA said the donation comes at an opportune time when Government is aiming to equip schools with latest computer hardware.

"In tandem with global trends, and with the world fast transforming into a global village. The Government of Zimbabwe has embraced ICT, especially in schools. POTRAZ has aptly and accordingly taken this noble Government initiative by helping schools to acquire relevant ICT gadgets which have indeed enhanced learning.

Masvingo High School computer laboratory is one such initiative that will go a long way in adding value to the school's learning environment," said the ZNA.

POTRAZ assisted with the building materials of the laboratory, and also went on to donate 36 laptops, a multi-purpose printer, an overhead projector, 36 desks and chairs and 1 desktop computer.

In addition to the donation, the regulator also provided the school with a six month WIFI subscription. The ZNA, however, challenged the school authorities and students to fully utilie the donation whilst envisioning that the school's results are expected to improve significantly.
